If you have a Quantum storage heater and are on a smart tariff such as the British Gas Dimplex Quantum Tariff. This is because of the requirement of 24/7 connectivity. If you are on a smart tariff and do not require heat, we would recommend setting the heater to Away or Frost Protect.

If you are not on a smart tariff, the heater can be turned off.

Should  you not require heating for extended periods of time, our Quantum and slimline storage heaters can be switched off at the wall switches. The on-board clock uses a battery backup and all settings are held within the heater's memory.

Should you require heat for occasional use after switching off we would recommend using a portable heater.

Please note that we recommend that you should turn your heater on a few days before it’s needed so that it can learn the room temperature and start to store the right amount of energy.
