The heat on light is flashing when I slide the thermostat up on my panel heater, why is this?

Flashing Call for Heat LED

The Call for Heat indicator should illuminate when there heater is providing heat. If the light is flashing when the slider is increased beyond the current room temperature, then this would suggest that there is an issue with the thermostatic control broad which would need to be replaced.
