How to set up background stored on my DUO Heat?

Modified on Thu, 26 Sep at 11:22 AM

This article only shows how to set the background (stored) heat level on a Duoheat radiator. For more info on the heater setting, including how the heater interacts with an optional wall timer, click HERE.

The background (stored) heat setting can be adjusted by using the + and – buttons on the control pad.

1 – Press the ‘+’ button until all the lights are lit

2 – Press and hold ‘+’ until all lights disappear, except 1 light which will be flashing

3 – The flashing light indicates what the background is currently set to. This can be adjusted by pressing the ‘+’ and ‘-‘ buttons according to if you want to increase or decrease the temperature.

4 – Once you are happy with the setting leave the control pad alone and after a few second it will reset back to the radiant panel control.

5 – Now press the ‘-‘ button until the radiant panel is back on it’s original setting.

Allow a couple of days to see how the heater responds to the change, as it is changing how much the heater is charging overnight.

If the heater will not let you change the setting, it may be in Childlock mode, or it may be locked out as a wall timer may be controlling the heater. If you have a wall mounted timer, turn the dial on the timer to the SUN position, then try altering the settings on the heater.

We also have a video showing how this is done for the Duo-i heater:

And the newer Duo-N heater:

Note the DuoHeat range of heater are now discontinued and there are limited spare parts.
