Can I use a proxy server with the Dimplex Hub?

Modified on Wed, 8 Feb, 2023 at 11:50 AM

Applicable to models: Dimplex Hub, Dimplex Control App

No.

Whilst the Dimplex Hub does not have the option to select a Proxy server, it is possible to manually specify the Hub IP address, netmask, gateway IP and DNS server addresses if that is required on the local network. The option to select IP as "Auto" (DHCP) or manual is shown during the hub setup process, or by using the "Change Hub connection" wizard.

To use the "Change Hub connection" wizard:
Open the Dimplex Control app, log in, select "Hubs" along the bottom of the screen then tap on "..." icon to open the Hub Settings screen. Select "Change Hub connection" and follow the steps in the app.

Note; it is not possible to simply go from WiFi to Ethernet LAN cable connection or vice-versa by simply plugging/disconnecting an Ethernet LAN cable into the Dimplex Hub and home internet router. The Dimplex Hub must be told via the app to change the connection method as described above.
