You can use your product as you normally would, but if it is placed in a zone with the app, the rest of the zone will not change to match the changes made on the product. Only changes made to the zone via the Dimplex Control App will be made to all products within the same zone.
We recommend that modes are set via the app and only temporary changes are made on the product's on board controller. This includes, pressing the Advance button or adjusting the target temperature when timer modes are active, or using the Boost function.
