How do I enable Secondary Heater Mode on my XLE storage heater?

Modified on Mon, 2 Dec at 3:21 PM

Applicable to Models: XLE, XLE050, XLE070, XLE100, XLE125 XLE150

Note, for some earlier models of XLE storage heaters this mode is called Slave Heater Mode

This setting modifies the charge algorithm to prevent under-charging when enabled as it takes into account other heat sources in the room. We recommend enabling this mode when there is another heat source in the room.

If more than one storage heater is installed in the same room, it is recommended that the smallest capacity heater(s) is set as a secondary heater. This is disabled by default.

To enable Secondary Heater Mode, follow these steps:

  • Press and hold Menu, Back and Enter for the Service Menu
  • Press the down arrow to highlight Secondary Heater Mode and press the dial
  • Press the arrows to Enable and press Enter
  • Secondary Heater Mode is now enabled

Please note that enabling Secondary Heater Mode may cause your heater to increase its charge level. Therefore this may cause higher electricity bills.
