Setback is a temperature mode that will aim to keep the room from going too cold whilst the heater timer is in "Heating OFF" mode.
It can help a room recover back to the desired temperature much quicker when the timer changes back to "Heating ON" but may exhaust the core too soon or use more energy in some situations (poorly insulated rooms and high setback temperatures).
