System-S is an ultra-efficient “split type air source heat pump”. It is made up of two components, an outdoor unit, which captures thermal energy from the outside air, and an indoor unit which receives this thermal energy and distributes it to an integral hot water cylinder and to radiators and/or underfloor heating within the home.
The picture below shows the 6kW and 10kW outdoor units and the white indoor unit with touch screen display on the front.
It is a “split” system which means some of the refrigeration components are outside, and the rest are indoors, rather than being a “monobloc” unit (see definition for “monobloc” for more information on that type of heat pump).
System-S is available in 6 & 10kW capacities, and the indoor unit has an integrated 210L hot water cylinder (for the UK/Irish Market). In Mainland Europe, the indoor unit has a 200L hot water glass enamelled cylinder due to different market requirements.
