System-S uses R32 refrigerant and that has a GWP (Global Warming Potential) of 675, which means that if 1.48kg of R32 is released into the atmosphere, it is the same as releasing one tonne of CO2 into the atmosphere.
System-S is a sealed system so the likelihood of any of this refrigerant leaking out is incredibly low. In addition, R32 has a Zero Ozone Depletion Potential. R32 is also a very efficient refrigerant offering superb performance in a heat pump.
