What does the Sun symbol in the left hand corner mean on my Edel display?

The sun symbol will appear in the top left corner of the display, when PV Mode is enabled and when the cylinder is getting a signal from the PV system to run in PV ECO or PV MAX mode. If you do not have a PV system connected to the cylinder and want to disable this, then you will need to do the following to disengage it:

  1. With the unit ON (screen lit and symbols showing): Press MENU once.
  2. Turn dial until INST MENU appears.
  3. Press and hold CLOCK and MENU at the same time.
  4. PV MODE should then be displayed.
  5. Click the DIAL.
  6. Turn dial to set to NO.
  7. Click the DIAL to accept.
  8. Press Menu to escape

Note: If the screen is locked, hold the MENU button down to unlock/lock.

More information on PV mode and how it is configured can be found here.

Note; if there is a PV signal going to the cylinder, ie PV ECO or PV MAX, but the timer is set to Frost Protect, (the snow flake symbol), that will prevent the system from using PV. Likewise, if a Moon symbol is on the display, it will prevent the system from going into PV MAX mode.
