How Do I Claim Ownership Over on the app an Existing Product? (e.g., New tenant moving in)

If you're taking over a site with existing products and need to claim ownership, there are two ways to do it:

1. Transfer Ownership (Preferred Method):

If the previous owner is available, they can directly transfer all products and associated settings to you.

Step 1: Ask the current owner to transfer ownership of the entire site. They can do this by adding your email into the app.

Step 2: After that, download the Capa Connect App, set up your account, and accept the invite. This makes you a secondary user.

Step 3: The primary owner can then complete the transfer by changing the ownership in the app's settings.

2. Manual Claim of Each Product:

If you cannot contact the previous owner, you'll need to claim each product individually and set up zones and schedules. This is the same process as setting up a new product with the addition of step 5 & 6

Step 1: Download and install the Capa Connect App.

Step 2: Follow the app's instructions to create your account.

Step 3: Go to the 'Control' page, tap on 'Create new site', name your site (like "Home"), and select your time zone.

Step 4: To add a product, click on "Add to site" then "Set up product".

Step 5 - Accessing and Scanning the QR Code:

1. Locating the QR Code: This is typically on the rear of the product.
2. If the Product is Mounted:
   1. Turn it off for safety.
   2. Press down on the tabs atop the wall bracket. Gently tilt the product to reveal its rear side with the QR code.
3. Scanning:
   1. In the Capa Connect App, select the option to scan a QR code.
   2. Center the code in your phone's scanning area. The app will capture it automatically.
4. After Scanning: Carefully return the product to its original position on the wall bracket and switch it on.

Step 6: If informed the product is owned, select 'Claim ownership'.

Step 7: Activate the product's Bluetooth, following app guidance.

Step 8: Enter the 6-digit product pin code from its label or controller.

Step 9: Connect the product to Wi-Fi. Note: Avoid moving your phone far during this step, or you might lose the Bluetooth connection.

Step 10: Name your product (e.g., "Jane’s Room") and save.

Step 11: Set up a zone with an icon and name (like "Bedroom 1").

Step 12: Now, either add another product or view your site.
