There is a leak coming from the immersion element of my Edel 200/270 cylinder. What do I do?

Modified on Tue, 27 Jun, 2023 at 12:07 PM

Applicable to models:  EDL200-630RF, EDL270-630RF, EDL200-630, EDL270-630

Issue:  Water appears to be coming from the element at the bottom of the cylinder around the immersion element.

Action

In Guarantee -  Service visit required, see below additional help link. Please attach pictures of the leak, data label and the cylinder in situ.

Out of Guarantee - A Service engineer should safely isolate the cylinder from the mains supply, drain down the cylinder and remove the immersion element for inspection. The rubber o-ring seal should be inspected and if believed to be suspect, changed out. This is part X-B1657452 (Element O-Ring). Alternatively, the entire 1.2kW element & O-Ring assembly is part number X-B4992886.

See additional help link below for list of out of guarantee service agents.

When re-fitting the immersion element, it should be tightened to a torque of 70 Nm.
