Issue: Heater display error code 33.
What this means: Charge controller is getting too hot.
Action:
- Make sure heater is not covered or obstructed. Clothes must not be placed on the heater. Clearances around the product must be obeyed (see diagram).
If the heater wasn't covered then the cause of the error is likely to be an installation fault ie the core not installed correctly, not a manufacturing fault.
- The installer should revisit to ensure the inner core cover was correctly fitted using all screws (red arrows on diagram) and that the core insulation is tucked in at the right hand top corner to ensure heat is not leaking out (orange arrow on diagram).
These checks must be performed by a qualified person and the mains supply must be isolated and proven dead before carrying out checks.
These checks must be performed by a qualified person and the mains supply must be isolated and proven dead before carrying out checks.
- The installer should check that the element tails are not hanging out too far:
Failure to do so will result in a build up of heat on the right hand side of the heater causing the fault code to appear.
- If these checks have been performed and the issue persists, a Service visit required, engineer taking part 100000038 Charge Controller PCB. See below additional help link below.
If possible you should check the following items and if they are not correct you should contact your installer prior to raising a ticket for a service call.
- Have the trips in your consumer unit switched off? (switch back on if they have)
- Check that the switches controlling the supplies to your product are on
- There should be a switch (unfused) for the off peak supply
- The supplies must not be on a 3 pin plug
- Are the supply cables different sizes, off peak supply should be on a 2.5mm2 cable
- Have you set up the user interface (control on the top of the product correctly?
- Have you registered your product
